Salt Lake Get-away

A couple of weekends ago, Robb and I took the kids out of town to Salt Lake City for a quick get-away. The kids had never been to a big city and were enthralled with all the activity there. It was definitely "Country Mouse goes to the City"! It was quite comical, and Robb and I shared a few good laughs!! Tucker had never stayed in a hotel that he could remember, and was very worried about how and where we would sleep.
We found the city to be very family-friendly (no surprise there) and we were thrilled that even the "small" booths is McDonald's could seat our whole family! We visited the Planetarium, the Children's Museum (Discovery Gateway), and the zoo. It was delightful to just be together for a few days without responsibilities and to learn so much about God's Creation together. There really was so much to take in and discover! I came home refreshed and revived! Preston had a blast in the water area!

Robb and the boys making a movie together

Pretend time!

Drew and Robb lagged behind, discussing many things relating to science (Robb was thrilled to finally have a buddy that liked to go slow, for those who have ever been to a museum with him!).

So much to see!

Sweet baby Claire...

Drew, doing a weather report about the hurricanes...

Lauren's favorite part of the day...she was on the screens around the museum!

The day at the zoo began rainy and cold, but soon after we got there, the sun begin to smile on us.

Loved reading about your trip! Jamey and Robb need to do museums together--Jamey is our one that lags behind! (almost said "slow one" and thought better of it-ha)

I like that pic of Preston on the side--the one with the frown. Cade used to make a face like that when he was little! Sure wish that we could do a park or zoo together sometime; I know that our kids would love each other!

I loved seeing these pics!...what I could see of them anyways...Josiah walked up and excitedly exclaimed "that's our cousins!" after which I was fighting 4 little heads in front of me to see the screen. Si said, "I sure wish we could go there with them!" Me too, buddy, me too...

You all look like you had a great time! We should meet in Salt Lake sometime, I think it is a 6-7 hour drive from here but I have never been except to the airport. I am dying to ski there. It would be fun to meet sometime.
The kids are cute and Claire is changing so much.

Julie,
Thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog. =) It is always nice to hear from you. Sorry it took me so long to respond back. I'm sure you know how it is adjusting to a new baby. =)

Congrats...on your adorable little baby girl. She's so cute! I'm so glad that your oldest daughter (who looks EXACTLY like you I might add =) has a sister now. My brother has the same combo, 4 boys and 2 girls.

I'm sure that you are enjoying the special moments with new your baby. (Though lacking some much-needed sleep. HA!) I hope all is well your way
